Protests against the war in Gaza continued today outside Columbia University. Yesterday NYPD was summoned by the University to evict protesters from an encampment on the school’s property and a hundred people were arrested for trespassing. The activists were out on Broadway today beating a drum, waving Palestinian flags, and chanting “Free, free, free Palestine.” The mobilization was peaceful as about a hundred helmeted police officers contained around the same number of protesters in a narrow strip of sidewalk on Broadway near W116th Street.
