Pier Review

Lodged in downtown Manhattan’s Pier 36, Art on Paper‘s seventh edition continues to bring together exciting and compelling projects. Featuring over 60 galleries, the quality of work is exceptional, containing the art of both national and international painters from all walks of life. The booths are generous in size, allowing for both solo and group showings. Walking through the exhibition, you get the impression that you are in a series of galleries, no different than those found in Chelsea and SoHo.
.
The show cast a wide breadth of styles/mediums. From modern/contemporary, traditional, and abstract to digital, watercolor, photography, and oil paintings. All united by the common theme of paper-based art.

.
Highlights include; Suqun Zhang‘s love of tigers in wild/energetic landscapes, a blend of realism and the abstract, and Adam Riches‘ stream of conscious vignettes on the human condition. Art on Paper serves as a comfortable and stimulating way to re-enter the art world after a tumultuous year filled with uncertainty.
