Monday, May 29, 2017 (Memorial Day)

Event: General Public Ship Tours – Last Day For Ship Tours

Time: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Location: Pier 88, Pier 92 (USCG cutter only) in Manhattan; Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (in the Red Hook Community) in Brooklyn; and Homeport Pier in Staten Island

Lines may be capped early to allow guests to finish their tours

  • Last day for tours – ship tours will be held on Pier 88, Pier 92 (USCG cutter only) (Manhattan) (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.); Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (Brooklyn in the Red Hook Community) (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.); and Homeport Pier (Staten Island) (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.). Notice to guests, electronic smoking devices are prohibited. Additionally, all guest over the age of 18 will be required to show a valid photo I.D. Events are free and open to the public.

Event: New Rochelle Memorial Day Ceremony

Time: Noon – 6 p.m.

Location: New Rochelle, New York (Glen Island Park)

  • Event will include memorial ceremony (noon), free concert in the park, and U.S. Marine Corps aviation static displays (2 p.m. – 5 p.m.). Event is free and open to the public.

Event: Seabee STEM Informational Static Display

Time: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Location: Manhattan, New York (Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Pier 86)

  • U.S. Navy Seabee Historical Foundation will host a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) informational static display for visitors at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Pier. Event is free and open to the public.

Event: Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Memorial Day Observance

Time: 10 a.m. – noon

Location: Manhattan, New York (Riverside Dr. & 89th St.)

  • Annual Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony will take place at Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument in Manhattan. This year’s event will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Midway. Event is free and open to the public.

Event: Intrepid Memorial Day Commemoration

Time: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Location: Manhattan, New York (12th Ave. & 46th St. Pier 86N)

  • Honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice serving in the armed forces. Join hundreds of veterans, representing wars and conflicts from WWII to the present. Event is free and open to the public. Visit the Intrepid Museum wesite for more details here

Event: U.S. Coast Guard Search & Rescue Demo

Time: 2 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Location: Manhattan, New York (In view from Intrepid Pier 86)

  • U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) will conduct a Search and Rescue demonstration in the water of the Intrepid Pier 86 for visitors and ships to see. During the demo, a USCG rescue crew will drop a mannequin into the water to simulate a person in distress. A rescue swimmer will then jump into the water to secure the mannequin. Both the rescue swimmer and the mannequin are then lifted securely back into the helicopter. Event is free and open to the public.

Event: Annual New York Mets Military Appreciation Game

Location: Queens, New York (Citi Field, 123-01 Roosevelt Ave.)

Time: 4:10 p.m.

  • New York Mets will host the annual Military Appreciation Game. Mets will take on the Milwaukee Brewers. Events will include: first pitch, Oath of Enlistment; national anthem; and more!

    • Participating ships depart, signaling the completion of the 2017 Fleet Week New York. Event is free and open to the public to view.
