Fat Joe

November 24, 2021

NYC rap star Fat Joe was up in Inwood on Thanksgiving Eve, giving away bags of groceries to community residents. The event took place on West 207th Street between Post and Sherman Avenues, in front of the sneaker shop. Fat Joe was joined by Michael King, Director of Government Relations and Retail Service for C-Town Supermarkets, which provided the shopping bags and the groceries. Mayor-elect Eric Adams was scheduled to join them but, according to an NYPD source, he got stuck in traffic and didn’t show up.

Fat Joe on community:

“When stores were getting looted the community stood in front and said you’re not doing that here.”

On inflation:

“Yesterday’s price is not today’s price, but we gotta keep up.”

On giving away groceries:

“Nothing to do with vanity. Nothing to do with me. This is for the People.”

On these times:

“Scary, crazy where the world is now.”
