Our country has held successful elections through good times and bad, and this November is no different. Individual voters, the media, candidates, and the political parties have a duty to be patient while local election officials count every ballot cast in accordance with applicable laws. I pledge to vote, to be patient, to use my voice, and to do my part to ensure a fair and accurate vote count.

See you next week!

To Newsrooms Across America — Stand With Democracy

You have a huge responsibility. Only declare a winner when you are certain of the result.

COVID-19 has Americans voting by mail in record numbers and these ballots can arrive after the election is over.

If newsrooms declare a winner too soon, they could get it wrong and threaten the election.

Tell news leaders not to declare a winner until they’re certain of the result.*
