Even in the smallest villages, hundreds of miles from the fashionable runways of Paris, Milan and NYC, people recognize the really big names in fashion. But what they may not recognize are the up and coming designers who are still hungry for the success of those household names. The artists who participated in a special fashion show here on Tuesday night at Flatiron Studio in Chelsea may one day be known to all. But, for now, their brilliant designs and fresh interpretations were on display just for a special, invitation only crowd that gave them the warmest reception imaginable.

The setting was a simple loft space on W17th Street. There were no limos, spotlights or burly security people out front. Rather, people who knew exactly where they were headed slipped into the building sans fanfare and mingled together casually before the show began. To say they’re the beautiful people would be a cliché, but honestly, it was a very attractive crowd. Designers, models, buyers and everyday fashionistas chatted and posed for pictures in front of a logo splashed backdrop while a wall of photographers set up their gear near one end of the U-shaped runway.

As the lights dimmed and the first models entered the space, the audience nodded and signaled their appreciation with muttered ooohs and ahhhhs. This year’s designs looked spectacular as did the men and women modelling them. Designers from the World over came here to share their vision with a select group of New Yorkers. The person behind this special evening, Wm. Michael Reid, has been producing exceptional fashion shows for more than a decade both here and in Europe. Tuesday’s installment of “NYC Live! @ Fashion Week” Spring/Summer 2026 Fashion Showcase (Season 17)” was just the latest success for the man and the brand. We look forward to seeing all of these talented artists soar to new heights of success in the future.
