A current exhibit, Courage to Act: Rescue in Denmark, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage downtown honors the Danish people who risked their life to help their persecuted Jewish friends and neighbors escape the Nazis. It shows us what it means to be an ally when an oppressive, racist regime targets a minority for discrimination, incarceration, and even death. The exhibit is scheduled to run through 2028.

In addition to providing historical context, e.g. the Nazi Occupation of Denmark, the exhibit uses holograms to bring this era to life. A young Resistance fighter answers the doorbell and, while looking out for Nazis, explains how acts of sabotage against the Nazis can be performed such as changing street signs to confuse them. This tech is very effective in conveying the personal aspect of a tragic era many decades ago.
