Have you ever dreamt of shopping in Istanbul‘s Grand Bazaar but the ten hour flight to get there put you off? Well then you’re in luck! A recently opened pop-up emporium across the street from the NYPL’s new Inwood Branch (4791 Broadway) provides a taste of that legendary market right here in Inwood. The Gazette spoke with Katty Peña Napoli and Matibel Perez, the entrepreneurs behind this shop. With the holidays approaching, these two Women have made it easy to pick up lovely and unusual gifts for the people on your list.

Whether it’s a Chanel beanie or a jar of crystal menthol, you’ll find many items sold in Türkiye. And just like merchants do over there, Katty and Matibel greet visitors here with a warm welcome and a glass of hot çay (pronounced ‘chai’). They have many varieties of that drink on offer here including Forest, Apple and Camomile by Naturkish. But wait, there’s more! There’s a room filled with fashionable clothes, another one set up for a book signing by author Shery Oliva, one with skincare accessories from Musa By Rafe, and another with handmade soaps.
They’re open 10:00 AM-8:00 PM, Monday to Sunday so head on over and check it out. Supporting local businesses when you do your holiday shopping is a gift to the community!
