Mail-In Voting Begins

October 5, 2024

Those who requested and received an Early Mail or Absentee Ballot can already vote in November’s election. Previously, Absentee Ballots were only provided to voters with a valid reason, e.g. going to be out of town on Election Day. Now however, any registered NY voter can vote early by mail with no excuse or reason required. Both Early Mail and Absentee ballots work the same way – you request, receive and then return your ballot in the mail. There’s still time to request an Early Mail or Absentee ballot if you want to vote that way. Go to NYC Votes for more information and to NYS Board of Elections to request your ballot.
