The National Weather Service has issued the following:
What: Winter Storm Warning
Where: NYC
When: 4:00 AM until 6:00 PM on 2/13
Hazards: 4 to 8 inches of snow and winds gusts up to 40mph are expected to cause significant travel difficulties. Roads may be dangerous & strong winds may cause power outages. Use mass transit.
Preparedness Actions: Use caution when walking, biking, or driving and allow for additional travel time.
Before an Outage – Charge cell phones – Gather supplies – Turn refrigerator/freezers to a colder setting
During an Outage – Stay clear of downed power lines – Turn off all appliances – Keep refrigerator/freezer doors closed to prevent food spoilage – Do not use generators indoors – If you have a disability/access needs, or use Life Sustaining Equipment (LSE) and need immediate assistance, dial 911.
