The Tony Awards nominations are in and Upstate Manhattan is where the winners will be announced on June 11th. The event, at the landmark United Palace, is a major milestone on the venue’s journey from a “Wonders of the World” Loew’s movie house in the 1930s. The theater was purchased by Reverend Ike in 1969 and repurposed as a space where spirituality, art, and community can unite. The United Palace is busier than ever nowadays hosting concerts, theatrical productions, film screenings, tours, and art exhibits. It’s also become a unique location for TV and film productions. Kudos to United Palace CEO Mike Fitelson for bringing the Tony Awards Uptown!
