In conjunction with the release of Lin Manuel Miranda‘s new movie, In The Heights, residents of Washington Heights and Inwood were invited to visit The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum this weekend for free. As aficionados will recall, Lin’s character in the Broadway musical was named Usnavi after a battleship marked U.S. Navy that his Dad saw.
Just bring photo ID showing you live in 10031, 10032, 10033, 10034 or 10040 and you plus 3 friends or family (4 comps max) can climb aboard this seaboard attraction through Sunday. Hours are 10-5, with last entry at 4PM. So go today and save $33 a person.
The Gazette went on Saturday and highly recommends visiting this unique museum that you’ve probably driven past a million times on the West Side Highway. You’ll be up against Pride Parade crowds as far as getting around, but if you’ve always wondered what the Intrepid was like, now’s your chance to find out, for free.
Here are a few photos from our visit.
