If you’ve walked by the NYPL Inwood branch lately you’ve probably noticed that it’s closed. As of this week the library offers ‘Grab and Go‘ service where you can reserve a book online and then pick it up locally. The pick up location is now open at 4857 Broadway, which is an address you may recognize from Inwood Art Works shows, the apartment building known as The Stack, or Probus clothing store. It’s on the downtown side between W204th Street and Academy about a block and a half north of the ‘old’ Inwood branch. Hours are Mon-Sat 11am-5pm.
Here’s how it works. Navigate online to the NYPL catalog. Look up the book you want, place a hold, and await email notification that it’s ready to be picked up. Then go to 4857 Broadway and grab it. Then go. Simple!
