But among the last in this neighborhood to plunge into the al fresco sidewalk dining scene that Inwood has become this Summer. The renovated, legendary Capitol Diner on Broadway was restricted, along with all NYC eateries, to take-out only last Spring when the COVID-19 pandemic came to town. Most of the spots up here were quick to cobble together platforms and enclosed areas for outdoor tables as soon as doing so got the green light back in June. But the Capitol stuck with its pre-COVID-19 business plan and held off. Then something changed their mind recently and, lo and behold, now you can order a tasty burger or any of their delicious specialties and enjoy lunch (or dinner) right outside on the sidewalk.

Hot Open Roast Beef Au Jus with real Mashed Potatoes, and Sauteed String Beans a la Capitol.
