Two years ago, on the 4th of July, the Gazette ran the transcript of a famous speech given by Frederick Douglass in 1852. We’d have been happy to simply rerun it today unchanged because how can you improve on a masterpiece? But then we came across this version – a reading from that speech by descendants of the man himself. Check it out here via NPR and YouTube.
