March 20, 2020.
Not him! Oh God, no! Us! Today is not only the first day of the rest of your life, it’s the first day of the Gazette‘s fifth year. Time flies when you’re having fun, right? Little did we know when we launched this hyperlocal observatory of art, fashion and politics that we’d be taking a front row seat to document the collapse of society and the end of the world as we knew it. Just kidding! These are undeniably interesting times in which we live and someday these dispatches may be regarded as contemporaneous evidence that shit was really crazy back then.
So, in keeping with the newest new normal – social distancing – we hereby celebrate the Gazette‘s birthday by remotely gifting readers a brand new search box feature. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and type in something. And if we’ve ever mentioned it in the past four years it should bring up all the relevant results. A search for ‘the meaning of life‘ for example should return nothing. But ‘Antifa‘ will snag our very first post and still one of our favorites. So enjoy the new feature, cross your fingers, say a prayer and with a little luck we’ll do it again next year.
