Current rainfall is expected to transition to snow by this afternoon, with total snow accumulations of 2-4” expected and locally higher amounts possible. These conditions will likely cause travel difficulties, especially during this evening’s commute. New Yorkers are urged to use mass transit, exercise caution when traveling, and allow for additional travel time.
In addition:
– NYC Emergency Management has issued a travel advisory which remains in effect for NYC through tomorrow’s morning commute.
– The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory which remains in effect for NYC until 7:00 AM tomorrow, 12/3.
– Alternate Side Parking Regulations are suspended today to facilitate snow removal. Payment at parking meters remains in effect.
– NYC public schools are open today and are currently scheduled to be open tomorrow, 12/3. After-school programs requiring yellow bus service are canceled today.
