Human Connection Arts to Host the First “Protest Against Divisiveness” in Times Square on June 15th. More than 100 Volunteer Nude Body-Painted Models to March from NYC’s Times Square in a Call of Unity for All People.
New York, NY – Human Connection Arts, the non-profit founded by NYC-based artist and
body painter Andy Golub, announced today that they’ll be bodypainting over 100 nude models in NYC’s Times Square on June 15th as part of their Protest Against Divisiveness. Each model will be painted with their own message promoting unity and will then lead the assembled crowd down Broadway to join a song circle led by American Roots artist, Guy Davis, at the Flatiron Building. Other notable guests include civil rights attorney Ronald Kuby.
“The Protest Against Divisiveness is a call for unity of all people and a celebration of our unique differences,” said Andy Golub, the event organizer and founder of Human Connections Arts.
“Our models are everyday people, young, old, men, women, Republican, Democrat. By
standing nude in public with nothing but a message of unity on their body, shows their
commitment to human connection.”
The event begins at 12 noon in Times Square where over 100 volunteers, both male and
female, will strip down totally naked and be painted with inspiring message s. At 2 pm, the models and all protesters against divisiveness (who don’t have to be painted) will join together for a march down Broadway, showing off their unique bodies and messaging for all to see.
Finally, from 3 pm to 3:30 pm, the crowd will join American Roots artist, Guy Davis, for a
peaceful song circle in front of New York’s iconic Flatiron Building.
Golub has been organizing large scale body painting events around the world, including NYC Bodypainting Day, since 2014. Each year has a different purpose and theme, but all are transient expressions of living art.

Andy Golub
Artist, Activist, Executive Director of Human Connection Arts
Andy Golub is a world-renowned artist specializing in public art and body art. His public
performances have changed nudity laws in New York City and opened the doors for free
expression for many other artists. Founder of the international non-profit Human Connection Arts, Golub’s work has been featured in many events in NYC, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin and San Francisco.
Golub’s body art is both interactive and spontaneous. He does not objectify his models but relies on a spiritual connection between artist and model for inspiration, revealing an inner truth through his art. Golub has painted models of all shapes and sizes, people with disabilities, cancer patients, the elderly and people of all genders.
A strong advocate for public art, Golub has painted murals throughout NYC and in Wynwood, Miami. His painted automobiles have been featured in many NYC parades.
Golub created a new art form that he calls “human canvas” paintings. Large groups of models lay flat, forming a human canvas, spontaneously painted and photographed from above. The largest human canvas painting to date is 17 models.
The Vessel at Hudson Yards
Leading up to his Protest Against Divisiveness on June 15th, activist and artist Andy Golub made a statement outside of the newly famed “Vessel” at Hudson Yards by bodypainting a nude model.
The purpose of the upcoming march – and this demonstration – is to create a movement of unity and human connection (Something the Vessel represents with its structure of all connected staircases).
