Where: Citywide
When: 3/21,12 AM to 3/22, 8 AM
Hazards: 12-16″(inches) of snow. Roads may be dangerous & strong winds may cause power outages.
Preparedness Actions: Use caution when walking, biking, or driving.
Before an Outage
– Charge cell phones
– Gather supplies
– Turn refrigerator/freezers to a colder setting
During an Outage
– Stay clear of downed power lines
– Turn off all appliances
– Keep refrigerator/freezer doors closed to prevent food spoilage
– Do not use generators indoors
– If you have a disability/access needs, or use Life Sustaining Equipment (LSE) and need immediate assistance, dial 911.

Notification issued 3/20/18 at 7:55 PM. New York City Emergency Management today issued a Hazardous Travel Advisory for Wednesday, 3/21. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for NYC for 12-15 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 45 mph.
New Yorkers should prepare for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, as high winds can cause blowing and drifting snow. Commuters are advised to use mass transit where possible, and to exercise caution when driving, walking or biking. Allow for additional travel time when commuting.
The Department of Sanitation issued a Snow Alert, beginning at 1:00 PM today, 3/20. PlowNYC will be activated and available at www.nyc.gov/severeweather.
