Alex Nguyen, winner of the International Trumpet Guild Jazz Competition, and his quartet brought 1930’s jazz to the Cloisters today for the first of three summer shows at the Met Museum’s Inwood outpost.
Last summer at the Met Cloisters, I performed an evening of music of the 1930s, the decade in which The Cloisters was built. It was so well received, this year I’m returning with three different groups for the dates below:
Dan Kleijn – guitar, Luke Sellick- bass, Phil Stewart – drums |
|
Alex Wintz – guitar, Dave Barron – bass, Jimmy MacBride – drums |
|
Steven Feifke – piano, Luke Sellick – bass, Jay Sawyer – drums |
