The #MarchforScience happened in multiple cities across the USA this afternoon. The New York City march took place under light rain showers in midtown. The March gathered on Central Park West then headed down Broadway to Times Square. While nominally an apolitical celebration of Earth Day, recently proposed cuts to Federal programs including the National Institutes of Health and EPA led some marchers to carry signs referencing Federal funding priorities. More typical sightings were messages such as, “Got Polio? Neither do I”, “Mad Scientist”, and “There’s No Planet B.” At its peak, the march stretched from Columbus Circle to Times Square.
