Several thousands of protesters expressed their opposition to the incoming Trump administration’s proposed policies tonight in midtown. Despite short notice, they all evidently got the message to come to the Trump International Hotel in Columbus Circle and make some noise.
Braving chilly temperatures and the by now familiar security maze to gain entry, the assembled masses were treated to political analyses by the likes of Cher, Michael Moore, Rosie Perez, and Alec Baldwin. Not to mention, by an actual politician in the person of New York City Mayor Bill DiBlasio. The gist of it was that Trump’s policies are evil and that resistance is imperative.
It’s doubtful that this message came as much of a surprise to anyone in attendance, but on the final night before Donald Trump is sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, it was clear that not everybody is ready to get over it yet.
